Blog 3 part 2: Todd Willingham

In the Todd Willingham Case I do not agree that an innocent man should be put to death because of his kids who where in a fire and got killed. putting innocent people to death is wrong because they did not do anything to deserve the death penalty. Alot of the people who are in prison are innocent, but the people put them in prison thinking they are guitly for doing something and are not most of the time. In the Willingham case they said that the fire might of been spread more by the lighter fluid that was around. The fire they said was started by accident. But at first they said the evidence was shown that Willingham might of started it because he was the first out of the house and did not have any sort of burn marks on his feet. Willingham reported that he tried to get to his kids by crawling but the smoke was to Blury to see. Todd was later on arrested for the murder of his kids People said that todd used to beat on his wife and they heard screaming from his wife Stacey. When Todd was younger he was in trouble for stealing bikes but was not in trouble or even did do anything over the top. He liked hearing hard rock music but he was not a bad person. In August of 1992 the trial began for the case and witness accused Todd of being a violent person, while others said that Todd would neaver put himself before his kids. in the case of todd willingham his wife said that he didnt do it and was by his side at first but later on changed her mind maybe do to the fact that she was beaten by him and was tired of it and thought he deserved to be put to death. Todds case was in the air for a while, when it came to the day of death for him he was was put to death and they found out after the death that they had killed an innocent man. Thats why i think that no innocent person should be put to death and they should know before they out someone to death the right information and are for sure that they are guilty or not.

  1. We have now viewed 3 cases where there was evidence that people were falsley convicted, so should there still be a death penalty?
